How to Press Your Sublimation Transfer
Follow these simple steps to make your projects look professionally pressed every time:
Step 1 – Pre-Press Your Blank (Optional but Recommended)
While not required, pre-pressing your substrate for 5 seconds helps remove moisture and wrinkles - especially helpful when working with fabric. For hard blanks (like mugs or tumblers), make sure they’re clean and dry.
Step 2 – Position Your Design
Place your sublimation transfer face down on the blank, ensuring it’s exactly where you want the design. Use heat-resistant tape or sublimation spray to hold the transfer in place-no sliding allowed!
Step 3 – Press with Purpose
Use the settings recommended for your blank. Here are some general guidelines:
- Fabrics: 400°F for 45–60 seconds, medium pressure
- Hard Substrates (mugs, tumblers, coasters): 385–400°F for 60–90 seconds depending on the item
Always use butcher paper or blowout paper above and below your blank to prevent ghosting or ink bleed.
Step 4 – Remove & Cool
Carefully remove the paper while it's still hot (unless your blank calls for a cold peel-check the item instructions). Let your item cool completely before handling to avoid smudging or fading.
Step 5 – Wash & Care
For apparel:
- Wash inside out with cold water
- Tumble dry low or hang dry
- No bleach or fabric softener
With proper care, your design will stay bold and beautiful wash after wash.

Artwork Recommendations
We accept all file types, but for the cleanest, sharpest results, vector files are our top pick.
If you're uploading raster artwork (like PNG or JPEG), make sure it’s at 300 DPI or higher to avoid pixelation.
Crafty Tip: Using Canva or Procreate? Export your design as a PDF for the best print quality. It makes a big difference!
